DOLL'S HOUSE ... WORK IN PROGRESS 05/11/2009 18:00 PM 25/11/2009

Work in progress ... is the evening performance at which will be implemented site-specific installation of dolls and will be added ongoing exposure to the Castle of Vigevano, a photographic work of Andrea Simoncini Gibson. During the performance will be presented to the catalog A Doll's House (Doll's House) , whose video made specially for the occasion, will be screened in the Castle of Vigevano underground road. The performance will enrich the collection of exhibits, including an installation by "Tough Mother" Robert Gligorov, a doll-music box, which looked like a barbie, life size, with sexual attributes male.
The work embodies the myth of the androgyne. But not only.
In patriarchal societies, the social order operates as a huge machine that tends to ratify the symbolic male domination on which it relies. According to Pierre Bourdieu, "the biological difference between the sexes, that is, between the male and female bodies, particularly the anatomical distinction between the sexual organs, can thus appear as the natural justification of socially constructed gender difference, particularly sexual division of labor "
Doll House is the collective organized in Vigevano on the occasion of World Day against Violence against Women (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) by Pro (G) Art (Committee for the Arts and Culture in Vigevano). The violence on the body and the female psyche, has been translated into the language and images of matter, sintatizzata that "the concept takes shape" by Francesca Crocetti, Valentina Gusella, Mirta Kokalj, Marta Manfredini, Claudio Monnini, Massimiliano Robino, Andrea Simoncini Gibson and Robert Gligorov (special guest).
The title of the text is copied from the eponymous play written by Henrik Ibsen (Et Dukkehnjem) in 1879, a stinging critique on the traditional roles of men and women within marriage during the Victorian era.
"There are two kinds of moral laws - Ibsen wrote in his first notes for the play - two types of consciousness, one in a man and a woman in another completely different. One can not understand each other; but in the practical life, woman is judged by the laws of men, as if it were not a woman but a man. "
The link between this text and the theatrical city of Vigevano is represented by the figure of Eleonora Duse, actress born in Vigevano, October 3, 1858. In the 90 century it was Duse to take on the Italian scene of Ibsen's dramas, including A Doll's House, playing the part of Nora. The exhibition venue is the Road underground the Castello Sforzesco in Vigevano Via XX Settembre, a few meters from the house where he was born the great Italian actress. The video recordings are made by Marco Lamanna.
The Doll House exhibition, sponsored by the Municipality of Vigevano , was produced with the assistance of Credito Artigiano . Sponsor: Ethics BMW, library Nutrilite

Last winter I completly kidnap the beautiful music video for the song "Walking on Air" by Kerli Koiv. I was so inspired that I wanted to try to create a sculpture inspired by her own and her video ... which is in turn inspired by a wonderful artistic work of Natalie Shau.

The 'Capodimonte doc' arrives in Hong Kong

MARISA PEN - The Morning - For several days the ceramics of Capodimonte, the pride of our craft, are proudly displayed on the shelves of stores, "Wing On", one of the largest retail chains Hong Kong. In absolute contrast, the work of our master potters are exported to the Chinese region from which, as we know, but as much part of every kind of merchandise that invades the markets around the world, including imitation of our beautiful ceramic . Rises, flower arrangements, picture frames, figurines and furniture made from milk-white masters of Capodimonte be purchased by customers as China at prices ranging from one thousand to one hundred euro. This opportunity came from a commercial export of trade fair participations of the "Polo scarl Capodimonte ', the consortium created by the artisans of Capodimonte ceramics and connected to the Consortium (Which has as its objective but its promotion of the sector). "The opening of this new market, needless to stress, it is important not because of the ability of micro-to invent a local ceramics business processes of internationalization in spite of a territory to say the least hostile to promote and support local entrepreneurship and for reflections, I would say the lessons to be learned "says, with satisfaction, the economist Vincenzo De Bernardo, president of the Polo Association and the Capodimonte Capodimonte. "This is not the presence of a short, but a true gift of the garrison in the department stores built by Wing On Chinese managers believe that the" Made in Naples is much more engaging and meeting the aesthetic tastes of the local demand "guarantees De Bernardo. This new demand from China is clear so that no one - much less the Chinese, the undisputed masters of the "copy" - is satisfied by imitations and low cost products, which for too long have flooded the market. This experience shows that there is a real potential for craft and small enterprises that can produce growth and jobs. The masters of Capodimonte expressed the hope that the local institutions' colganoquesta opportunities and organize with us and for us the necessary tools to support production. " Among these "tools" with the crisis of demand local, have certainly be very important business initiatives. Ceramics are thirty companies and ten companies of the sector Polo Capodimonte. There are one hundred workers who are serving there. But those six hundred may become employable if China were to expand the experience and then towed to exports to other countries.

"launched a market survey on the potential of Artistic Toscano in the Chinese market." This follows an article sent to me via a news letter.
I think it is incredible that the use of public funds,
do not know if this is the case, for research and advice is the subject of various communication campaigns aimed at publicizing the work of some public administrator.
Well ... my company, which makes Capodimonte porcelain, has recently become a supplier of a chain of shopping malls in China. Beyond my story, that something extraordinary, (I do not think there are many artisans in Italy that are able to export to China), the important thing is that Naples comes first ... without too much chatter and proclamations, but only concrete.
The difference is that we have done alone, without public money. Alone ... You must have a product sell rather than talk, it's freedom of action to handle the real levers of marketing, the name of an economic discipline too abused.
's not all gold, of course. If there was a real public support, actually addressed to companies, we will truly enhance its development.

De Bernardo faces a moral crisis in Hungary

The quality craftsmanship shows a counter trend in a difficult period of decline in productivity. Starting today, Capodimonte porcelain made in the laboratory De Bernardo may also be bought in stores in Budapest. Bernardo De Gaetano, through his manual skills and a strong creativity, reinterprets the tradition of Capodimonte adapting to contemporary tastes, creating products of high quality and able to reach niche markets abroad.
In difficult times for all the world's economies, the winning strategy is to compete on product quality, exclusivity and sophisticated style. Thus, even impenetrable markets to date due to the reduced purchasing power of people open their doors to excellence makes it a raison d'etre.

or moral crisis

The period is not the best ... the crisis will last very ....
These are two phrases that you hear too often in recent times. Such statements are accompanied by those who think that there is no crisis, or rather that the crisis is not economic. Some say that if there is a crisis, it's moral crisis.
To avoid the risk of speaking lightly of crisis and morality and not to be part of those who profess morality without understanding it, I entrust myself to a very simple instrument of information, a dictionary of the Italian language.
The crisis is a "momentary, sudden and violent manifestation of ...". Morality refers to human acts and thoughts to the good and evil, morality, comply moral principles. If we assume
to accept these definitions then we should change our approach to the subject that affects us so much, and involves in the first months of 2009.
Morality is an individual perception of good and evil, some people will say that probably suffers the conditioning of the experience of each, education, cultural level, the social / economic / territorial when it is based. Morality is subjective and experience, so it can not be in crisis because the crisis is temporary, as we have seen. All we can say that in our society there is a moral deficit because, although subjective, some values \u200b\u200bare associated in a shared good, other evil, are an example of the laws that define the boundaries between licit and illicit, between good and evil. Subjectivity is the fact that many rules or laws are not always considered, and everyone, right. It is also clear that non-observance of rules, laws, is amoral, but it is not the crisis of established behavior. The difficult times undoubtedly accentuate the removal of some rules, but affect more people with a predisposition, who has a different moral perception. I do not think that absenteeism from work in public administration or labor exploitation in the private sector are attributable to moral crisis history tells us. Yet I am convinced that this, as well as a business culture very low and very high levels of beggary, depends on what we now call mistakenly crisis. The economic crisis is not here, there is a financial difficulty that lasts for some time now, at least ten years, so there is no crisis. At this time there has been a gradual contraction of certain productive sectors of the country and I think it's hard to think that he had no perception. I do not know how it comes out, surely someone will replicate their experience bankruptcy, someone else will try to gradually build its own path, some more will continue to profit at the expense of the disadvantaged.

Welcome to Bread Porcelain and

They asked me why the title of the Bread and Porcelain .... because china gave the bread (to live) from my great-grandfather to my father. The application concerns me. I'm talking about because I Capodimonte is natural, is an area I know and that often arises in my life, was the subject of economic applications for university exams, for dissertations, projects of regional economic analysis to which I worked. As if I ate bread and china, do more but there is always the porcelain in mezzo.La truth is that it is my roots and I wonder why bother. The real issue for discussion is the continuity, and not only the industry but all Capodimonte those who have a strong bond with our land and our traditions, and who are too often sidelined as a result of a certain myopia that affects all heals but only when the distance is too great now, even the eye healthy.
